Editorial Policy

How we create content, make editorial decisions, and maintain trust with our readers. Last updated: April 4, 2026.

Our Commitment

National Drone Centre is an independent drone blog. We are not funded by, owned by, or beholden to any drone manufacturer, retailer, or industry organization. Our opinions are our own — always.

How We Write Articles

Every piece of content on National Drone Centre is written by real drone enthusiasts — people who fly drones, build FPV quads, and follow drone tech daily. Here's our process:

  • Topic selection: We write about what matters to the drone community — new product launches, regulation changes, gear comparisons, and flight techniques.
  • Research: We cross-reference official sources (manufacturer specs, FAA documents, patent filings) and combine them with hands-on experience where possible.
  • Reviews: When we review a product, we aim to use it firsthand. If we haven't physically tested a product, we will clearly state that in the article.
  • Opinions are labeled: We're an opinion-driven blog. When we state an opinion, it's usually pretty obvious. We're not pretending to be a government agency or a scientific journal.

Independence & Transparency

  • No pay-for-play: We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage. Period.
  • Free products: If a manufacturer sends us a product for free, we will disclose that clearly in the article. Getting a free product does not guarantee a positive review.
  • Sponsored content: If we ever publish a sponsored article, it will be clearly labeled as such. Sponsored content is separate from our editorial coverage.
  • We buy our own gear: Most of the products we cover, we purchased ourselves with our own money.

Corrections & Updates

We're human — mistakes happen. When they do:

  • We correct errors as soon as we become aware of them
  • Significant corrections are noted at the top or bottom of the article
  • We update articles when product specs, prices, or regulations change
  • If you spot an error, please contact us and we'll fix it ASAP

Reader Trust (E-E-A-T)

We believe in earning your trust through:

  • Experience: Our writers are actual drone owners and pilots, not freelancers who've never touched a quad
  • Expertise: We cover what we know — drone tech, FPV, regulations, and the gadget ecosystem around it
  • Authoritativeness: We cite official sources and link to original documents when reporting on regulations or specs
  • Trustworthiness: We tell the truth, even when it's not what brands want to hear

Content Types

We publish several types of content:

  • News: Factual reporting on drone industry developments
  • Reviews: Our hands-on take on drones, accessories, and related gear
  • Guides: How-to articles and educational content for pilots of all levels
  • Opinion: Our take on industry trends, debates, and the future of drone tech
  • Comparisons: Side-by-side breakdowns of products in the same category
